RumbleRoller History

Ron Johnson and his wife, Lori, have always been actively engaged in sports and weight training. Years of over-training and inadequate recovery, however, forced them to endure many injuries and reconstructive surgeries. In the process of rehabilitating their bodies, they gained experience with several types of soft tissue work (including traditional massage, Neuromuscular Reeducation, ART, Rolfing, and Graston).

To better address their recovery needs, they yearned for something that allowed them to do their own deep-tissue massage at home. Conventional foam rollers were convenient and simple to use, but their effects were too superficial to overcome the damage they had done to their bodies. So Ron, an experienced biomechanical engineer, began work to develop a more advanced massage tool. By early 2009, they were seeing great results from their final prototype, which they named the RumbleRoller. So that other athletes could share its benefits, they teamed up with STI to begin production.

RumbleRoller quickly became STI's most popular product.
